The Ideal Airport Bag Conveyor

People love to travel, to see scenic spots and visit beautiful places. But while they love travelling, getting there is another story. Most people dread or even hate flying for different reasons. One main reason why is lost or damaged luggage. You or someone you know has had his bad experience with respect to their baggage. They either get misplaced, or get destroyed because part of it gets stuck with the conveyor, or fragile things get broken due to mishandling of airport personnel. More often than not, bags get dropped and tossed around. Quite unexpectedly, this phenomenon happens even in airports within the US. As one checks in his luggage, the bag is then transported using belt conveyors. Depending on the available space and design, the conveyor may be suspended or floor mounted. These queuing conveyors must be able to ensure spacing between bags as they are moved to the x-ray screening sections.

After this section, the bags are then sorted. This is to ensure that the bags are directed to its proper flight. This is the most complicated yet most important operation, because any glitch on this part of the system results in misplaced luggage. Some have developed a system where an electronic chip is attached to the bag to ensure that it goes in the specific plane. Tilt tray sorters and high-speed vertical conveyors may be used. Some use inclined or spiral conveyors to save space.

As one arrives in an airport, he expects to see his luggage come out of the conveyor with minimal delay. The reclaim area need not be complicated. Conveyors are matched with carousels, whether flat or inclined, where bags may be placed without danger of its belt or handle being stuck in any of the overlapping slats. Its internal cladding must ensure that loose luggage items like strings are not caught or get tangled. Transport and flow of luggage must likewise be smooth and easy. Stainless steel finishes on the sides give it a polished and ultramodern look. Manufacturers have come up with modular construction for the conveyors, so it is easy to install and maintain.

Even as we speak of, engineers and designers are coming up with airport conveyor solutions for every problem. The ideal airport bag conveyor can actually be real. So replace those scary airport stories with good memories of a fun travel. While you may still enjoy the view, take time to travel. Take that most deserved vacation, whether alone or with friends and family. Hit the beach, go skiing or see historic places. After all, the destination is more important than the travel.
